Want to join me in supporting a good cause? This #GivingTuesday I'm raising money for Growing Healthy Veterans and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. And on GivingTuesday Dec 1, Facebook will match $7 million in qualifying donations. Thank you for your support. I've included information about Growing Healthy Veterans below.
First Growing Healthy Veterans (GHV) would like to thank all those who have donated on our Facebook fundraisers in the past. You have been an important part of our fundraising programs and we are grateful for every dollar .
For Giving Tuesday 2020, Growing Healthy Veterans is requesting funding to expand its community garden in North Chicago, and to develop a program to get more of the neighboring communities involved in growing nutritious food for themselves and their families. This program will involve Veterans building raised beds and containers and helping teach community members the basics of growing healthy produce. The Veterans will also be helping to create a unique garden space with pathways, benches, a covered area with picnic tables, a medicine wheel herb garden, a butterfly garden and many native plants. The residents of North Chicago have been hit hard by Covid, and the Veterans participating in the programs of GHV find healing in helping those in need.
